The Warrior
Is strong, courageous and determined. They are biased to action and focussed on challenge. They are selfless, and harness a deep love for their family and community. And they have fun doing it! Our club aim is to use basketball to provide a fun way to develop these values and behaviours in our athletes, helping them fall in love with game, develop a sense of team and community and develop a health and athletic platform that will stand them in good stead as they grow older.
OUR PROGRAMS
The South East Warriors are a full member club of the McKinnon Basketball Association playing predominantly around Melbourne’s inner South East Suburbs. We are a young , growing club with approximately 260 athletes across 37 teams, catering for all skill levels from beginners through to representative levels.
Club Basketball
South East Warriors currently run U8, U10, U12, U14, U16 and U18 Boys teams on Saturdays plus U10, U12, U14 and U16 Girls teams on Sundays in the McKinnon Association.
Girls Only!
We want to continue to increase the number of girls teams at the Warriors and as such have a girls only version of our Beginners Program.
Beginners Program
For younger athletes looking to start playing in teams, but have not yet played basketball, we strongly encourage starting with our Beginners Program, which introduces the core skills and concepts of the game.
Academy
For Warriors players who want to improve their basketball skills but not able or willing to join the McKinnon Cougars Representative program we offer some additional weekly training
