We are excited to announce that registrations for the Winter 2024 season are now open.

Here’s what you need to know:

REGISTRATION 

Registrations will close on the 22nd March 2024.  

Please note that any requests to register after this date is at the discretion of the club and a place in a team will not be guaranteed so please ensure you register by the due date. 

The PlayHQ platform manages the registration process & payments.  If you have previously registered through PlayHQ please ensure that you use the same account to register this time.  If you are new you will need to create a PlayHQ account.   

REGISTRATION FEES 

As a club we have kept Club Registration Fees as low as possible over the past few seasons. We continue to offer teams access to 1 hr training sessions each week and aim to keep teams at no more than 8 members. However, due to increasing costs including an increase in team fees, and additional playing week this season and court hire costs, the Winter 2024 registration fee will increase to $315. This fee covers all regular season games.

Last season, we introduced an Early Bird Discount and are pleased to advise that once again, we will be offering a discount for any Player registered before 15th March 2024 .

$15 Early Bird Fee – Code: 18459D5F (entered at time of payment in PlayHQ)

Families with 2 or more children with the club will receive an 8% discount for the 2nd and subsequent children. (applied to the discounted fee).

Volunteer coaches - will receive a reimbursement of 50% off one club registration fee. This reimbursement will be processed after Round 4 of the Winter Season. We as a club highly encourage parents to volunteer as a coach and as always great support is provided to our coaches.  

OTHER FEES 

BASKETBALL VICTORIA ANNUAL LICENCE FEE 

Each junior player is charged a $29annual fee directly to Basketball Victoria.  This fee covers player’s insurance for any basketball competition played in Victoria at any time in 12 months.  If you have previously paid the fee within the last 12 months you will not be charged the fee if you use the same PlayHQ account to register.   

NEW GAME DEVELOPMENT LEVY

Basketball Australia has introduced an annual Game Development Levy of $5.50

McKINNON ASSOCIATION FEE 

The MBA are charging a player registration fee of $96.  This is the door entry for Junior players for the season as well as venue entry for an unlimited number of spectators.  This will be a line item on PlayHQ which every Junior player will pay on registration.   Please note that this fee covers only the games in the regular season and does not include the finals rounds.

You will be required to create an account in your own name as parent/guardian or use the account you created previously. Don't create the account in the child's name. Please use an email address that you will have access to over the next 12 months as PlayHQ currently doesn't provide the ability to change/update email addresses of account holders.   

Register your Eldest child 
Second & subsequent children - Unfortunately, PlayHQ doesn't yet allow for registering all your children at the same time. So, the quickest way is to use the link again to register a 2nd child.  In the "Choose User" section select "Register New Family Member or Dependent" and in the next section select "Player" and continue. When you get to the payment section your discount is automatically applied.  
If you are registering as Coach or Team Manager, you're required to register yourself as such. Use the link again and in the "Choose User" section select "I am registering myself" and in the next section select "Coach" or "Team Manager" and continue.

PLAYER CLEARANCE AND TRANSFER 

Players that are moving from/to Warriors from another club must request this at the time of registration.  This is completed through PlayHQ at the time of registration.  You will be prompted to trigger a transfer request which will be sent to the ‘from’ and ‘to’ clubs and the MBA. Once approvals have been given, you’ll receive an email advising that registration can be completed. This process may take a couple of days

PAYMENT METHOD 

PlayHQ will accept payment by credit/debit card, Google pay and Paypal payable at time of registration.  Please note that PlayHQ also includes the ‘Paypal Pay in 4’ option which enables you to pay fees by 4 instalments. If you need assistance with payment, please email:

COACHES AND TEAM MANAGERS 

All coaches and team managers are required to register through PlayHQ so you can be allocated to your team.  There is no fee associated with this.  These roles are vital to making our club and teams a success, please consider putting your hand up to support our players in what is a great fun and fulfilling contribution to our community.  All volunteers over the age of 18 MUST have a current WWCC, these are free to obtain.  Go to: Working with Children Check | Victorian Government (www.vic.gov.au) to find out how to obtain one.

SEASON OVERVIEW

Age Groups and ball sizes for Winter 2024 will be as follows:

This season will run over term 2 and term 3 of 2024 with no games in school holidays or on long weekends. All boys up to U18 will play on Saturday and all girls and U20 boys will play on Sunday.  

The season will have 16 rounds plus finals. The first 4 rounds are grading rounds for the U10s to U20s and teams may move between divisions within an age group and games times/venues may change. We recommend you check the fixture each Friday.

Every effort is made by Warriors to enter teams in the appropriate division that maximises enjoyment & competition, noting that the association ultimately determine placings.

UNIFORMS 

Uniforms are available from our website  https://www.southeastwarriors.com.au/gear and a sizing chart is also available online.  Please get uniform orders in early so we can try and ensure that your size is available prior to the start of the season.
